Use the guide below to identify the income type, understand what's generally accepted and see the documents you'll need to support an application.
PAYG employment
May be suitable for clients who are:
Full-time employees (from 1 day employment)
Part-time employees (from 1 day employment)
Casual employees
Fixed-term or contract employees

Last 1 or 2 year’s individual tax returns and notice of assessment, and business tax returns (where applicable): or
Last 1 or 2 year’s financial statements signed by accountant or registered tax agent
Self-employed – Alt Doc option
May be suitable for eligible self-employed clients who may not have up-to-date financial statements or tax returns. Or those who’ve experienced growth recently.
Typical documentation
Income verification options may include declaration of financial position plus one of the following:
Accountant's letter
Last 6 months Business Activity Statements (BAS)
Last 6 months Business bank statements

Last 1 or 2 years Certified Tax Returns and Tax Assessment Notices: OR
Last 1 or 2 years Financial Statements prepared and signed by a registered tax agent or qualified accountant
Government payments
Some government payments may be considered where they are ongoing and meet policy requirements:
Centrelink pensions
Housing allowance provided by government bodies
Child support payments ordered by a court or a child support agency agreement exists
Family tax benefit A and B
Rental sickness and pharmaceutical allowances are unacceptable

Child Support Agency letter to confirm the maintenance agreement, if needed.
Multiple income sources
Clients don't need to fit into a single income category.
Pepper Money may assess clients with multiple income streams, such as:
PAYG + rental income
PAYG + self-employed income
PAYG + investment income
Multiple casual employers
Salary plus commission or bonuses
Each income source is assessed in accordance with the applicable lending policy and verification requirements.
Before you submit
A complete application helps reduce assessment time. Before lodging, make sure you've provided:
Income documents for every income source being relied upon
Evidence of employment or business trading where applicable
Supporting bank statements if required
Documentation for any additional income included in servicing
All documents are current, complete and legible

Frequently Asked Questions
Casual income may be considered where employment history and income stability meet policy requirements.
Options are available for eligible self-employed borrowers, including both full documentation and alternative documentation lending solutions.
Alt Doc solutions may help eligible self-employed borrowers demonstrate income using alternative forms of verification where traditional tax return documentation may not reflect the current position of their business.
Contractor income may be considered subject to product requirements and supporting documentation.
Eligible rental income may be considered as part of the overall servicing assessment.
Certain Centrelink payments may be considered where permitted by lending policy and individual circumstances.
Some eligible business expenses may be added back when assessing self-employed income, subject to policy requirements and verification.
